Data Categories
Different data categories provide access to different sets of data and associated metrics, ratios, charts and insights.
Some information can be collected via simple forms (e.g. NAICS code) within a workflow while other information can be obtained via API or file uploads - which options you choose to accept is configurable and is usually determined by the depth of data, risk tolerance and accuracy required.
All of the data we collect is available to synchronize in our common data model via our API
Accounting
Accounting data access is available via:
API - a direct connection to your customers accounting software, this provides the broadest set of data elements including profit and loss, balance sheet, invoices and accounts receivable, payments, chart of accounts, expenses and accounts payable and more. The data is ready for financial spreading and health metrics and can be viewed within your portfolio or in embedded dashboards.
File Uploads - your customers can upload a series of balance sheets and profit and loss statements in either PDF or Excel and we will clean the data and highlight any transcription errors. The data can then be used for financial spreading and to calculate health metrics.
Banking
Banking data can be obtained via:
API - a direct connection to your customers bank accounts shows current and historical balances, enables more accurate cashflow forecasting and allows you to reconcile the accuracy of accounting data. Historical statements can be downloaded in PDF format.
File Uploads - your customers can upload PDF bank statements which we clean and highlight any transcription errors, the data is then available as an Excel file.
Commerce
Commerce data is obtained via API, a direct connection to your customers e-commerce, sales and operations software applications. The set of data enabled includes payouts, orders (and returns), customers, subscriptions (including recurring payments) and more.
Payroll
Payroll data can be obtained via:
API - a direct connection to your customers payroll software. Enables continuous data sharing.
Report Based Access (File Uploads / Browser Extension) - your customers can upload PDF/Excel payroll reports or use our browser extension to automatically extract data from payroll software. Data is cleaned and transcribed to Excel files.
This enables employers to share sets of payroll data including employees, gross and net salaries, taxes, benefits and more. See also: Payroll.
Tax
Tax transcripts for businesses and their owners are available via:
API - a direct connection to the IRS provides up to 10 years of historical income filings. For businesses get access to original and amended filings of forms 1065, 1120, 940 and 941. For individuals get forms 1040, 1040SEP and CIVPEN. Notification of amended filings and leins placed by the IRS are also available.
File Uploads - your customers can upload PDF copies of transcripts, we clean the data and highlight any transcription errors, the data is then available as an Excel file.
